College night set for middle and high school students; 150 reps


Virginia Beach City Public Schools' College Night is set for Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on 19th Street at the Oceanfront.

Representatives from more than 150 colleges, universities, proprietary schools and the military are expected to be present.

Free to attend and open to middle and high school students and their parents, attendees may ask questions about admissions, tuition, programs of study, student life and services or accommodations for students with disabilities.

In addition, participants may attend financial aid workshops, scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

College Information Night is sponsored by the division's Office of Student Support Services, which also maintains Scholarship Central, which is an online resource for high school students to review scholarship websites and search a database of scholarship opportunities.
