I recently watched the original classic of Murder on the Orient Express, and was impressed by this work based on an Agatha Christie novel.
The film was ahead of its time in regards to the storyline.
While a very good detective tale especially for its day, I wouldn't have nominated this for a remake.
Nevertheless, Hollywood chose to bring this film back to the theaters.
Kenneth Branagh's version of the great detective is exceptional and gives this adaptation the pizzazz the original didn't have.
While performances by Michelle Pfeiffer and Johnny Depp were just as enticing, there aren't any additional elements that make this film theater-worthy.
While a good remake, it doesn't qualify as a must see.
That's the review!
