Fire, police and emergency services personnel respond to townhouse fire in the Wolfsnare area, man dies from flames

Virginia Beach firefighters, police officers and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to the 400 Block of Cadbury Circle, in the Wolfsnare area, on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, for a reported townhouse fire.

 

A man, 69, was found dead in the home and another person escaped it safely.

 

Two police officers were treated for minor smoke inhalation.

 

Firefighters arrived at 22:55 p.m., made an aggressive attack and entered the home to search.

 

Fire was found on the first floor, with heavy smoke conditions throughout the two-story townhouse.

 

Flames were suppressed and the neighboring townhouses were searched and checked for and spreading fire, which was contained to the townhouse of origin and extinguished.

 

The fire is under investigation by the Virginia Beach Fire Investigation Bureau.
