VB and Norfolk units unite to fight fire in Diamond Springs

April 15, 2018

Virginia Beach firefighters, along with auto-aid from Norfolk Fire Engine 4, responded to a multifamily fire yesterday afternoon in the 800 block of Zircon Court in the Diamond Springs Condos complex. Units arrived and found heavy fire showing in the rear of a building containing four condos.

While attacking that fire, a second unit down the court began to erupt in flames, which was quickly contained and believed to have affected one condo.

Two dogs were able to escape, but a neighbor caught one of them and a police officer apprehended the other.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes and marked out after a couple of hours.

It is not clear how many people were displaced.

No civilians or firefighters injuries were reported.

The fire's cause is under investigation.
