Retired firefighter Jeff Rosenfeld gets United Fighting Cancer check

April 28, 2018

Virginia Beach Deputy Fire Chief James Ramsey recently presented retired Master Firefighter Jeff Rosenfeld with a check, thanks to the generosity of the "United Fighting Cancer" organization, which consists of firefighters from Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk and Virginia Beach, all working together to raise money to assist firefighters in their respective departments who are battling cancer.

"Due to the nature of this profession, firefighters are considered an "at risk" group for this terrible disease," said VBFD spokesperson Art Kohn. "This check presentation took place at an event, sponsored by our brothers and sisters with the Chesapeake Fire Department, known as 'March Mustache Madness.' Thanks to all who contributed to this worthy cause."
