VB emergency staff worked in unison, met with media, for safety

September 15, 2018

Members of the Virginia Beach Fire Department, VBEMS and VBPD, along with other city leaders, began making emergency plans for Hurricane Florence's possibly deadly arrival early this week and held a press conference, at the city's Emergency Operations Center, to answer pertinent questions and assuage public fear.

City officials met with the media to respond to their questions about the city's response to the storm; and to raise to community's comfort level as it waited to see how much damage it might do.

Coordinating the city's emergency response, in the face of Hurricane Florence, left to right, were; Virginia Beach Fire Chief David Hutcheson, Deputy Chief James Ramsey and VB Fire Marshal Stephen Lesinski.
