A Harris Teeter employee was shot early Wednesday morning, during what appears to be a failed robbery attempt, inside the store at 5060 Ferrell Parkway in the city's Indian River-Centerville area.
On Friday, police arrested and charged Keonte Kwontez Yorkshire, 21, with attempted murder, robbery and two counts of conspiracy; Cato Moffett Battle, 18, was charged with attempted murder, illegal use of a firearm, wearing a mask in public and conspiracy.
Brennan Smith, 22, was arrested on Thursday, charged with robbery and conspiracy.
All three men are in jail, without bond.
Here's what happened leading to their arrests:
Police received a call this past Wednesday at 12:43 a.m., drove to the store and found the wounded worker, who was taken to a local hospital, with what appeared to be non-life threatening physical injuries.
Store employees told police that three males entered the store and tried to rob it, but were unsuccessful in their attempt.
The suspects ran from the store, wearing dark clothing and masks; and at least one of them had a gun.
The red spot marks the approximate location of the Harris Teeter
where the wounded employee was found.
