Old Dominion University, along with the non-profit organization, Fear 2 Freedom, will host an “Hour 2 Empower” on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the North Café, inside the Webb University Center on ODU's Norfolk Campus.
Attendees will hear from speakers and college administrators about the issue of sexual assault, the impact of sexual assault on college students and how they can work to end sexual violence on their campus and beyond.
Participants will also have an opportunity to provide support for sexual assault victims, by assembling Fear 2 Freedom aftercare kits, which are provided to hospitals and community organizations, because personal items are often collected and held as potential evidence when victims receive medical treatment. The kits include new clothing, toiletries, a plush “Freedom Bear” and a personal note of support and encouragement.
