Richard Buckhout, of VB, in jail, no bond; crash in Kings Grant

There was a serious accident Saturday afternoon in the 3200 block of Edinburgh Drive in the Kings Grant area

 

​A vehicle, traveling eastbound on Edinburgh Drive and operated by Virginia Beach resident Richard L. Buckhout, Jr., 28, struck a parked vehicle, while a woman was getting out of it. 

 

She suffered significant injuries and was transported by Emergency Services personnel to a local hospital. 

 

At this time, the unidentified woman remains in critical condition.

 

 

During the course of the investigation, Buckhout was placed in police custody, transported to the Magistrate's Office and charged with, driving under the influence, maiming as a result of driving under the influence, possession of a Schedule IV substance and two traffic violations: no state inspection and no liability insurance. 

 

He is now being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Facility under a no bond status. 

 

This case remains under investigation by the Virginia Beach Police Department, Special Operations - Fatal Crash Team.  ​
