Mount Trashmore's public access curtailed; improvements, coming

December 3, 2018

With Mount Trashmore Park's operations office and permanent stage construction projects now underway, pedestrian access has been restricted, for safety reasons.

At this time, there is no public access in or through the construction area.

The park's boardwalk and steps, located on its s lakeside, are also closed and there is no direct access from Edwin Drive to the lakeside restroom and shelters.

To access these areas, visitors are asked to use the perimeter trail around the lake, or the park's mountain, to bypass the construction.

Significant completion of the project is projected

for the summer of 2019.

Recently, the scenic boardwalk overlook area was completely redone and a set of stairs leading up the side of the mountain was replaced.

Improved pathways will be installed to accommodate various vendors, food trucks and pedestrian access.

Significant completion of the project is projected for the summer of 2019.
