Kitchen delivered more than I expected, with its gritty style of storytelling. It has a well-balanced cast and all of the lady actors give a performance that is digestible and very satisfying.
Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish are great to see in dramatic roles; and Elisabeth Moss constantly plays to win, with any role she does.
While some critics have been harsh to the film, it's obvious they were not paying attention, or, they went in to see it with the wrong attitude to begin with.
While it has some gangster aspects to the storyline, it's not intended to be anything like The Godfather. The story focuses on three women who are trying to survive in a culture that is male dominated, and dismissive of their value to the same culture they participate in.
It's sad the box office results were low because this movie addresses a few issues women still face today.
This is a good movie and I enjoyed it.
