Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams is probably best known to the public for his song, “Happy,” which he wrote and produced.
On April 22, 2016, it went 4xPlatinum and as of September 2017, the song had sold 1,922,000 copies, giving a total of 2,630,000 combined units, when 70 million streams are included.
Williams is considered an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and film producer. He also owns a media venture that encompasses entertainment, music, fashion, and art. As of 2019, his net worth is estimated to be $150 million, which makes him one of the world's most affluent rappers, according to online data.
In 2019, he launched the Something in the Water music and leisure festival at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. That same year, he was linked as a partner in the to the soon-to-be-built Atlantic Park and in 2019, he has publicly thrown his name and support behind the $325 million commercial business project.
Two weeks ago, Williams appeared before Virginia Beach City Council to publicly endorse the project, while preparing for the 2020 Something in the Water festival. The video of that meeting and presentation may be seen, above this post.
